This is a time of unending challenges and boundless opportunities. As young people, you are facing an uncertain future and are forced to navigate this world without any blueprints. You will have to carve your own path and choose your own adventure in this journey of life. We all know the trials and tribulations of being young today — whether it’s making ends meet, trying to find job opportunities or even finding meaning in our lives. Maybe you don’t feel like there’s anyone out there who understands where you’re coming from as a young person. Maybe you feel like no one has been in that place before. But trust me when I say this isn't the case! Everyone has been exactly where you are right now at different points in their lives. That's why it's important to remember that there is indeed support out there for youth like you. There are plenty of people working every day to make things better for young people, so don’t be afraid to ask for help!^^ ^ Even though we live in a world that might not seem fair sometimes, we believe that nothing is impossible if we work together with the same vision. There are many organizations and individuals out there who want the best for you as a youth and will do anything they can to help make it happen!

I hope this article inspires you to reach out for help and support whenever you need it!

Be a part of the change you want to see in the world.

In times when it might feel like everything is falling apart, it’s important to remember that all human history has been about change — change for the better. As young people, you can be a part of that change and help create a more equitable and just society for future generations.

Know your worth and don’t be afraid to ask for what you deserve.

We see so many youth paralyzed by a fear of failure or the feeling that they are not good enough. This is especially true for young people who belong to marginalized communities. I want to tell you that you’re worthy of love, kindness and respect regardless of your background or your current circumstances. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you need. Don’t be afraid to ask for more resources and support for your community.

Know your rights as a worker and stick up for yourself.

As a growing generation, it’s important to remember that you have rights as workers. There are laws in place to protect you from discrimination, abuse and exploitation. Whether you are working in the informal or formal sector, it’s important to know your rights as a worker and to push your employers to respect them. If you are being mistreated or have been mistreated on the job, don’t be afraid to speak up. There are organizations that can help you navigate the legal system and fight for your rights.

It’s ok not to have everything figured out right now. You are still learning and growing!

Being a youth in the 21st century is one of the most challenging things you will ever do. You’re expected to be independent and find your way in the world and at the same time, you’re experiencing so many life-changing experiences for the first time. This can feel both liberating and terrifying at the same time. As young people, it’s important to recognize all the challenges you’re facing, but also to recognize your own strengths and capabilities. You have so much potential and we believe in you, no matter what!

Find support groups in the people around you.

There are support groups everywhere! Whether you’re into sports, academics, the arts or just spending time with your friends, there are support groups out there. Support groups can help you feel less alone in the world and help you find people who understand what you’re going through. You don’t have to go through these challenges alone.

Stand up on behalf of marginalized people in our society.

You might not feel like you have the power to make change or stand up for people in your community, but we want to tell you that you do. You have a voice and a platform where you can be heard. You can use your position in society to speak for those who don’t have a voice. You can use your privilege to help lift up those who are marginalized. We believe that every one of you has the power to create positive change.

And remember, you’re not alone!

There are people out there who want to support and help you. We are all part of a global youth community and we’ve got your back!

Don't give up. There's a Swahili saying that goes, " Hata mbuyu ulianza kama mchicha" Meaning, even the biggest tree began as a tiny embryo. Everything will be alright, 'HAKUNA MATATA.'
