Don't give up. JUST DON'T.

We’ve all heard the adage “When the going gets tough, the tough get going” and it’s fair to say that life often presents us with challenges that seem insurmountable. It can be daunting to start a project that feels like a mountain to climb, or to persist in the face of seemingly impossible odds. No matter how hard the obstacles seem, it’s important to remember that you can’t give up. You can’t succumb to doubt, self-pity, or despair.

When you’re ready to give up, your first thought should be, “just don’t.” Don’t let the mountain that lies in front of you daunt you. Don’t let your own self-doubt keep you from achieving your goals. Don’t let failure be an option.

Now, it would be silly to suggest that giving up in never an option. There are certainly times when a situation is simply too difficult or beyond our control. In those cases, it may be better to walk away and try something else. But when you’ve got something within your grasp, there’s no reason to stop just because it’s hard.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the challenges life brings – whether it’s a project, a goal, a problem, or anything else – take a step back and remind yourself to just keep going. Accept that it won’t be easy and that there will be setbacks and roadblocks, but don’t let them get you down.

Give yourself a pep talk. Remind yourself of why you got started and the positive changes or accomplishments that will come from achieving your goal. Visualize your success. Deck yourself with positive mantras and post-it notes to keep your spirits up. Find ways to break down the task in front of you into achievable chunks.

Above all, just don’t give up. The path to success is never straightforward; it’s a meandering route full of twists and turns. But by maintaining your composure and refusing to give up on your dreams, you’ll eventually make it to the end. So the next time you’re tempted to give up, just don’t. Instead, take a deep breath and keep trudging on.
